FAIRFAX, VA – Donna (Long) Gobely Vogelhuber, 98, formerly of Salem and Alliance, OH, Falls Church, VA, and Sebring, FL, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2022, in her apartment in Fairfax, VA. She was born December 28, 1923, daughter of the late Earl F. and E. Marie (Judge) Long.
Donna graduated from Alliance High School in 1942 and was employed briefly at Morgan Engineering in Alliance. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker for most of her life.
Her survivors include sons, Larry Gobely (Gladys) of Millington, MD, Kennard Gobely of Clear Brook, VA; daughters, Karen Gobely Beatty (Jay) of Herndon, VA and Sharon Vogelhuber Hankinson (Les) of Fort Worth, TX; grandsons, Eric Hankinson of San Francisco, CA, Ryan Hankinson (Kathryn) of Fort Worth, TX, Justin Hankinson (Kim) of Chicago, IL, Travis Beatty (Jennifer) of Herndon, VA, Lawrence Gobely (Melissa) of Chestertown, MD, and Christopher Gobely of Chestertown, MD; granddaughter, Amber Davis (Justin) of Bowling Green, KY and eight great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews in California, Maryland, Ohio and Texas.
She is predeceased by her first husband, Dwight Gobely and second husband, George Vogelhuber, Jr., and daughter, Lynne Gobely Wakefield.
Friends and family will be received from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
We want to acknowledge the staff at The Virginian Retirement and Assisted Living Facility for all the care extended to our mother. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
