Donna Lemkee, age 84, of Algona passed away on August 22, 2017, at her home.
Donna Mae Lemkee, the daughter of Fred and Minnie (Helmers) Gronbach, was born on November 25, 1932, in Algona, Iowa. Donna was a strong-willed individual. As a single mother, she raised six girls and one boy. She was employed at Snap-On Tools for many years. Donna enjoyed sewing and making cookies at Christmas. Her family meant everything to her. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. Left to cherish Donna’s memory are her children, Pam Lemkee of Wesley, Kate (Barney) Samp of Algona, Chris (Mike) Monson of Lone Rock, Laurie (John) Perkins of Lyons, CO, Nancy (Brian) Friedrich of Algona and Brian (Danette) Lemkee of Santan Valley, AZ; 19 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Thelma (George) Knoer of Algona and Annabelle (Glen) Long of Estherville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Becky Rentz; and a brother, Lee Gronbach.
