Donna J Wiebelhaus, July 1, 1927 – February 3, 2013.
Donna J Wiebelhaus, 85, of Belton. Mrs. Wiebelhaus died Sunday, February 3, 2013 in Belton. Donna was born July 1, 1927 in Fordyce, Nebraska. She is the daughter of Earl Gobel and Myrtle Ballentine Gobel. Donna graduated from St. Rose Catholic School in Crofton, Nebraska, in 1945. She then attended Mount Marty College in Yankton South Dakota and received a degree in Nursing.
She married her childhood sweetheart Hubert Anthony Wiebelhaus on April 14, 1947. Hubert attended medical school and Donna became a full time mother of five children. In 1963 they moved to Temple Texas. Hubert completed his residency at the Temple VA. They then became life long residents of the Temple area. Donna resumed her education and received her Bachelors of Sociology and English from Mary Hardin Baylor in 1980. She was active in the Bell County Medical Society and a member of Christ the King Church She founded the Kings Daughters Hospital Auxiliary and served as their director.
She retired in 1989. Donna was an avid reader. She loved volunteering, traveling, needlework, flowers, crosswords, spending time with family and most of all “scratchers” with a glass of wine. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dr. Hubert Anthony Wiebelhaus, three sons, Douglas Joseph, Gregory Hubert, and Mark Steven Wiebelhaus, three brothers, Malcolm, Jimmy and James Gobel, three sisters, Lillian Schumacher, Alara Loecker, and Maxine Gobel. Survivors included one son, Mike Wiebelhaus and wife Carolyn of Bryan Texas, one daughter, Renee Sims and husband Louis of Belton Texas, one special angel, Eilleen Gamet and husband Bud of Troy, Texas. She was adored and loved by multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren, one sister, Mary Freemeyer of San Antonio, Texas; 15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
