Donna J. Thomas, 66, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully with her family at her side Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Valley View Health Care Center in Elkhart.
She was born Dec. 6, 1945, in Micco, W.Va., to Verlin O. and Kathleen (Kirby) Bess. On Feb. 17, 1962, she married the late Joseph Ronald Thomas in Indianapolis.
Survivors include two daughters, Rhonda (Charles) Ransom of Bristol and Lori Sproat of Elkhart; son Jeff (Pamela) Thomas of Elkhart; five sisters, Judy Green of Morgantown, Pat Kline of Niles, Mich., Novella (Tommy) Ritchie of Elkhart and Betty (Lou) Adams and Brenda Baker, both of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Randolph C. Thomas.
Donna was employed as a press operator at Goshen Manufacturing for more than 15 years and later worked at Actia Corp. for 10 years.
She was a member of Heart City Car Club, Vintage Wheels Car Club and a former member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge 395 in Elkhart.
Donna enjoyed baking, fishing, attending races and collecting bells, angels and coins.
