Donna J. Carson, 76, of Jacksonville, IL died Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL.
She was born April 9, 1939 in Jacksonville, the daughter of Clarence and Beulah Rea Sunderland. She married Virgil E. Carson on September 23, 1967 in Murrayville, IL and he preceded her in death on September 25, 1991.
She is survived by a sister, Charlotte Heaton (husband, F. Alan) of Murrayville; a nephew, Philip Heaton (wife, Sherrie) of Carrollton; a niece, Carmen Heaton Karhliker (husband, Bill) of Auburn; and aunt, Pearl Hacker of Jacksonville; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A 1958 graduate of Jacksonville High School, Donna was employed as a nurse aide at Passavant Hospital prior to serving in the dietary department at Jacksonville Developmental Center. She retired following several years of service as a housekeeper for the Illinois School for the Deaf. She attended Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church and was a member of AFSCME Local.
