Donn W. “Trigger” Tregoning, 75, of Peru, passed away November 2, 2015 at his home.

Mr. Tregoning was born August 23, 1940 in Peru to Orville and Elvera (Sperber) Tregoning. He married Joan M. Rochnowski on August 19, 1961 at St. Valentine’s Church in Peru. Mr. Tregoning was a graduate of LaSalle-Peru High School and LPO Junior College. He attended the University of Illinois, University of Nebraska, Illinois State University and Illinois Valley Community College.

He was employed at Sundstrand, Westclox and lastly at Caterpillar in Pontiac where he worked for 37 years, retiring in 2002 as a Senior Manufacturing Specialist. He was a member of the Peru Eagles. He loved to hunt mushrooms and go fishing and hunting. He especially loved fishing with family on Lake Waubesa. He made lures, refinished rods and mounted fish. He also enjoyed football.

Survivors include his wife, Joan; four children, Timothy (Teri) Tregoning of Houston, TX, Todd and Troy (Sarah) Tregoning both of Peru and Tracy (Ron) Malcolm of Houston, TX; five grandchildren, Cassidy Malcolm, Aysa Reitgraf, Cory Yaeger, Justin Yaeger and Katherine Yaeger; 5 great-grandchildren, Kayla, Nicholas, Samantha, Caleb and Olivia; one brother, Kurt (Holly) Tregoning of Oglesby; and two nephews, John and Scott. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers will be John Tregoning, Scott Tregoning, Mike Koniezcki, Frank Galassi, Jim Galassi and Tom Galassi.
