Don was born on August 10, 1940 in Boise, Idaho, to Edward and Vera Mick.
Don attended St Paul’s elementary in Nampa and St Teresa’s High School in Boise. After High School, and an enlistment in the U. S. Army, Don began the important work of his life, his loved his people and he let it show. He was married in June 1963 to Elenore “Elie” chose each other and cherished each other from the day they met. Children arrived, Michael (1964), Joe (1969), and John (1971), with Anthony joining the family as a teenager in the late 1970’s. Kids were the center of his world then grandkids, Jenny, Christopher, Josh, Aaron, Sebastian, Isla, Eli and Isaac. Grandkids called him Opa, and his people were his world.
Don worked various positions at the phone company from 1963 until retirement in 1990. After retirement he worked several jobs in shipping and receiving. When he retired from that he started his own business, “Don’s Windows” from around 2005 until he was diagnosed with cancer this past April.
Don is survived by his wife, Elie, sons Michael (wife Shellie), Joe (wife Robyn), John (wife Stephanie), Anthony (wife Fabiana), sister, Wanda (husband Ray), brother, Jim (wife Sharon), sister, Judy (husband Fred) and his 8 grandkids.
