Donat Cartier Jr., 85, of Bristol, widower of Lucy (Comeau) Cartier, and Josephine (Garcia) Cartier, died Monday, January 21, 2008 at Sheriden Woods Health Care. Mr. Cartier was born March 4, 1922, in Canada, a son of the late Donat and Lidia Cartier.
Donat served in the Merchant Marines during WW II. He was employed by the Charles W. House Co. in Unionville, and the Abbott Ball Co. in Elmwood, until his retirement.
His survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jacques and Laraine Cartier of Waterbury, a brother, Loridant Cartier of Canada, a sister, Alice of Canada, step-sons, Robert Jones of Bristol, George Jones of Bristol, Joseph Amiel of FL, Michael Jones of FL, step-daughters, Sandy Stewart of GA, Lola Gonneville of Bristol, Bunny Brown of GA, Carmen Coraginski of Plainville, and Brenda Hall of Bristol, grandchildren, James and Shannon Cartier of Waterbury, 23 step-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
