Donat A. Martin, 85, husband of Pearl (Gagnon) Martin, passed away on Tuesday March 10, 2009 at The Pines at Bristol, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Martin was born on July 30, 1923 in St. Agatha, ME a son of the late Ernest and Emma (Collin) Martin.
He was a longtime Forestville resident and retired from Fafnir Bearing in 1985 after working there for 43 years.
He was a lifetime member of the St. Jean the Baptist Society, VFW Post 574, Plainville and was an avid physical fitness enthusiast, enjoying his morning workouts at the gym with many friends.
In addition to his wife of 61 years, he is survived by his daughter, Nola Martin of Delray Beach, FL; his son and daughter-in-law Gary and Nancy Martin of Bristol; his daughter and son-in-law Karen and Jim Durant of Golden, CO; his grandsons, Conor Culver and Reed Martin; his sisters, Prescille Dubois and Therese Morin both of Lewiston, ME, Edna Saucier of New Britain and Viola McLaughlin of North Ft. Myers, FL and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his three brothers, Luc, Alcide and Lido Martin.
