Don was born February 16, 1940 to Leonard R. and Edna L. (Donason) Irish in Twin Falls, ID. He attended schools in Idaho before moving to Vaughn during his freshman year. He went to school at Simms for the next two years, moving back to Twin Falls for his senior year and graduating in 1957.
On August 23, 1958 Don married Charlotte Helen Penwell. They just recently celebrated their 58th anniversary. Together they have four children: Donna Chippewa of Dutton, MT, Doyle Irish, Bret Irish and Timothy (Colleen) Irish, all of Great Falls. They also have nine grand-children: Patrick and Donason Chippewa, Kylie (Adam) Stergionis, Casey and Cody (Bri) Irish, Joshua (Amber) and Alisha Irish, Zayna and Graydon Irish. Don has one great-grandson, Jacob Chippewa and three more great-grandchildren are due within the next five months. Don is also survived by three brothers, Norris (Linda), Niall, and Mike (Lori) Irish, all of Idaho. Don’s parents and two brothers, Jerry and Timothy Irish preceded him in death.
