Don was born on June 20, 1927, on a farm northeast of Carroll, NE, the son of Alfons “AL†and Flossie (Pickering) Wurdinger.
He attended Wayne County District 11 School for eight years. His freshman year was at Sacred Heart School in Norfolk. He graduated Bega School District #12 in Stanton County.
On December 26, 1956, Don married Deloris Ann Pedersen and to this union four children were born. They made their home on the family farm. They raised crops, milked cows, feed cattle and raised hogs. He retired in 1993.
Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing, playing cards and watching western. He also liked to read and care for his yard. He especially liked to ride his 4 wheeler.
Don is survived by his wife of 56 years and their children—Linda and Santiago Pena, of Norfolk, Donald Charles and Susan Wurdinger, Jim and Barb Wurdinger and Thomas Wurdinger, all of rural Stanton; 18 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
