Donald William Hallatt, 81, of Alexandria, embraced his eternal reward on January 15, 2014 at Community Hospital, Anderson.

He was born on September 21, 1932 in Lisle, Illinois and resided most of his life in southern California. Donald graduated from Lane Technical High School, and attended the University of Illinois. He retired in management with Shopping Bag Supermarkets, and then with Vons Supermarkets in California. He was the director of the Good Neighbor Center in Los Angeles, based out of the 1st Baptist Church, organizing events, and traveling the world. Don was an avid bowler, and he loved to read, working 15 years part-time at the Anderson Public Library.

He was a member of Mt. Olive Community Church in Muncie. Donald is survived by his loving wife, Leta Hallatt of Alexandria, niece, Diane Hallatt of Neosho, MO, nephew, Robert A. Mary Eiler II of Rochester, IN, nephew, Rev. Rodney A. Sherri Eiler of Gaston, niece, Kathy Rod Pressel of Anderson, niece, Bonnie Wilham of Alexandria, nephew, Randy Jan Fuller of Kokomo, brother-in-law, Robert Kay Eiler of Rochester, IN, sister-in-law, Elsie John Fuller of Alexandria, and several great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Follrod Hallatt, father, George A. Hallatt, brother, Raymond Hallatt, sisters, Dorothy Ruiz, Bernice Rivera, and, Joanne Costa.
