Donald Wayne Robbins was born June 13, 1940 in Kingsburg, CA. He went into the loving arms of the Lord and earned his wings as he entered Heaven May 21, 2016. He was the third of eight children born to Tommy and Mary Robbins. Don grew up in the Wasco and Buttonwillow area. He attended Wasco High and graduated class of 1958. He worked for Excel Mineral Co. for 50 years. Although the company went through many name changes, Don stayed at the wheel of that darn truck. We had a saying that was, “Not bad for just a temporary job”. He loved driving truck and made many friends along the way. Don was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Eddie, Lester, and Kenny; and one sister, Shirley Draubaugh. He is survived by his wife, Martha, of Derby Acres; two daughters, Lisa Robbins and Connie Williams, both of Taft; three sons, Donnie (Doodle) and Bill, both of Taft, and Tim Holmes of Derby Acres. He is also survived by two sisters, Lynda Lynch and family of Oregon, and Patricia McGeehee and family of Tehachapi; and his brother, Richard (Dickie) and family of Florida. There are also ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces and nephews, who will miss his bright smile and winning personality.
