Donald W. Lawson, 84, of Mishawaka, IN, departed this world on July 31, 2017 under the loving care of the Center for Hospice Care, surrounded by his family. Don was born March 6, 1933, to Victor and Marie Lawson in Plymouth, IN, and was a lifelong resident of the area.  He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Korean War. On September 29, 1963, Don married Margaret Pajak. To that union was born five children: Lauri (Rich) Laws of Mishawaka, IN, Mark (Cathy) Lawson of South Bend, IN, Janice (Tom) Bloss of Buchanan, MI, Denise (John) Spagnola of South Bend, IN and Dennis (Sheila) Lawson of DeKalb, IL. Don is also survived by a daughter, Susan Miller of North Carolina, from a previous marriage; his grandchildren: Scott (Lynn) Hanson, Josh, Marcie, Tricia Fullmer, Matthew (Cynthia) Van Houghton, Michael (Lauren) Miller, Mark (Jessica) Lawson, TJ Lawson, Jonathon, Curtis, Kristen and James Miller, Randy, Brent (Asia), Cody and Kaylee Lawson, Zachary (Ashley) Killelea and Brandon and Amanda (Greg) Boothe; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson on the way; and his companion, Arvilla Wright of Mishawaka, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret; his two brothers, Carl and Virgil; his sister, Virginia; and his two sons, Donald Miller and Dennis Lawson. Don was an OTR truck driver for 60 years, passing this legacy to many men in the Lawson family.  His biggest side job was hitting the “Mother Load” of yard sales and purchasing “the most beautiful” item ever. And though some would say it was to his detriment, he was also a huge Chicago Bears and Notre Dame fan.
