Donald T. Ponak, 62, of West Haven died suddenly July 21, 2011. For 23 years he was the loving companion and fiancé of Cathleen Lynch. A son of Anna Kocsis Ponak of Torrington and the late Lester T. Ponak, Don grew up in Torrington and has lived in West Haven for the past 23 years. In addition he leaves his sister Lesann Ponak and a niece Kristen Ponak. He was a former employee of Bayer. Don was both an avid Yankees and NASCAR fan.
