Donald was born in Nanticoke Pennsylvania to Julia and Andrew Skordy. He was a graduate of Nanticoke high school, where he went on to Scranton University and George Washington University where he pursued his education in a career in pharmacology. He met his beloved wife Patricia Ann Scordy in Washington, D.C. in 1963 and was later married in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania on October 17, 1978. They continued their life together in Fort Washington Maryland. Donald and Patricia later retired to Oxnard, California in 1998 where they lived a joyous life together.
