Donald Richard Scharlau, 81, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2022, at his home. Donald was born August 25, 1940, in Hinsdale to Erwin and Marie (Pomplun) Scharlau.
He graduated from York High School. Donald served in the United States Army from October 1959 until February 1962. He married Beverly Bender Scharlau on November 25, 1961, in Bloomingdale, IL. Donald was a truck driver and retired transport operator with Consolidated Freightways. He was a member of Waltham Presbyterian Church, Waltham Township Board, Waltham Curling Club, and the Utica American Legion Post 731. He is survived by his wife, Beverly; two daughters; four grandchildren; and one brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and one brother.
