Donald E. Richard, 84, of Rt. 1 Tonica, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2011 at his home. Mr. Richard was born on November 7, 1926 in Lostant to Fred and Grace (Grivy) Richard. He married Geraldine Farrar on November 29, 1947 in Lostant. Don lived and farmed in the Lostant-Tonica area his whole life.
He served in the Army during WWII. He was a member of Richland United Methodist Church and the Lostant American Legion. He is survived by one son, Kim (Vickie) Richard of Oglesby; one daughter, Cathie Edens of Oglesby; two grandchildren, Alan Richard and Jennifer Mertel; two great-grandsons, Logan and Landon Mertel; one brother, Darwin (Donna Jo) Richard on Mesa, AZ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Richard on March 26, 2006; one daughter, Gay Denise Richard on October 24, 1973; one sister, Evelyn Wise.
