Donald Ray Patterson, 74 of Centralia, passed away Monday, November 11, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. Donald was born October 19, 1939 in Wayne County, son of William Bryan Patterson and Mae Sylina (Jackson) Patterson. He married Shirley Forehand and she preceded him in death on January 11, 2008, he married Nancy Miller and she preceded him in death on April 1, 1987, and he married Lois Smith on August 27, 2005 in Centralia and she survives in Centralia.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: Craig Patterson and wife Crystal of Boyd and Kevin Patterson and wife Meghan of Salem; three daughters: Lisa Patterson, Terri Dean, Kristi Birchler and husband Harris all of Centralia; three step-daughters: April Williams of Salem, Crystal Miller of Texico and Cheryl Hamilton of Woodland, Alabama; eight grandchildren: Katie Patterson, Kelsey Patterson, Cassidy Patterson all of Boyd, Christopher House of Granite City, Kelly House of Chicago, Alexis Bunton, Ethan Bunton and Madison Bunton all of Centralia; four step-grandchildren: Makyla Hamilton of Woodland, Alabama, Hannah Miller of Texico, Alyssa Williams and Tyler Williams both of Salem; a brother: William Patterson of Carlyle; a sister, Irene Clark of Nokomis; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Harold Patterson and Everett Patterson, two sister-in-laws: Minnie Patterson and Sue Patterson, and a brother-in-law Joe Clark. Donald was a member of the Masonic Lodge, a member of Eternity Baptist Church and a member of the Carpenters for Christ. He also served in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed hunting, camping, and a little bit of farming. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
