Donald Ray Meyer Sr., 74, Pendleton, died March 22, 2011, at Seton Speciality Hospital-Indianapolis after an extended illness.
Don was born June 4, 1936, in Chrisney, Indiana. He moved to Pendleton where he graduated from Pendleton High School in 1958 and attended Ball State University.
He served his country in the US Army. Don was employed at the Department of Corrections from October 19, 1960, and retired on December 18, 2001. After retiring, he loved to attend auctions, fish, go boating, play cards and watch his grandkid’s sporting events. He is survived by his loving wife of over 47 years, Mary Cunningham Meyer; children, Ray Meyer of Anderson and Donnie & wife Laura Meyer of Pendleton; sister, Nina Goodson of Evansville; sisters-in-law, Rachel & husband Dale Lechlitner of Pendleton and Linda Hendricks of Anderson; brother-in-law, Jim Cunningham of Anderson; grandson, Tyler, and granddaughter, Jessie. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.
He was preceded by his mother, Ethel Collier Meyer; father, Walter Meyer and Cullen Meyer.
