Donald Ray Akin, 77, of Lawrenceville, GA passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Lord Akin; parents, James Horace and Carolyn Jones Akin; and brother, Roy Akin.
Mr. Akin is survived by mother-in-law, Imogene Lord of Madison, GA; aunt, Betty Jones Cagle of Woodstock, GA; sister-in-law, Betty Stewart of Madison, GA; several cousins; and his New Hope Baptist Church family in Lawrenceville.
Mr. Akin was born on December 8, 1943, in Atlanta, GA.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and Air Force and was retired security from the military.
Mr. Akin was a licensed minister, a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Lawrenceville, and a member of the Southeastern Railroad museum. He loved collecting stamps.
