Donald R. Scott, 78
Donald R. Scott, was born in Kellogg, Idaho on November 29, 1939. He was the son of LeRoy & Elva Scott of Duthie, Idaho. Don passed away on April 27, 2018 at his home in Pinehurst, Idaho.
Don attended grade school in Duthie, Idaho and later attended high school at the Wallace High School in Wallace. On March of 1956 Don Joined the US Navy, he was honorably discharged March of 1960.
Don worked in the local mines until 1992. Don then received his GED certificate at North Idaho College, then attended a truck driving class in Post Falls, Idaho. Don also completed classes with the Operating Engineers Union program in Spokane, Washington for equipment operation. Don worked under the Operating Engineers union for 11 years as a grade chaser on construction projects before retiring.
Don married Gaylene Self on May 24, 1974. Don is survived by his wife Gaylene at the family home in Pinehurst. Also survived Mike Self & family, Vincent Self & wife Karen & family, Jeanett & husband Kim Solum & family, Roni Kay & husband Randy Burt, Brian Self & wife Lona & family, plus numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Don is survived by brothers and sisters, Robert & wife Elaine, Rose Jones, Fred & wife Karen, Linda Wilson, plus many nieces & nephews. Don was preceded in death by parents LeRoy & Elva Scott, brothers Lawrence, and Raymond.
Don was and avid sportsman, hunter, fisherman, horseback rider, backpacker, 4-wheeler rider, trap shooter for which he received many awards. Don also loved bird hunting with his family, and his bird dogs.
