Donald R. “Don” Redinger Sr., 79, of Orrville, died Monday, March 14, 2016 at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster following a period of declining health.
Don was born April 16, 1936 near Marshallville to the late Irvin and Alta (Moser) Redinger and was a 1954 graduate of Apple Creek High School. He married the former Roberta “Bertie” Dravenstott on Oct. 18, 1958 and she survives. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 – 1960 and retired from Rubbermaid, Inc. where he had been a truck driver. He had made his home near Orrville for the past 52 years and had enjoyed traveling, hunting and watching sporting events.
Surviving are his wife Bertie; son, Don (Cheryl) Redinger Jr. of Smithville; grandsons, Joe Redinger, Don Redinger, III and Bryan “BJ” (Becca) Billiter; step-grandchildren, Tara Strand and Eric Schoolcraft; a great-granddaughter, Jensyn Billiter and step-great-grandson, Tracen Strand and Eric Schoolcraft. Don is also survived by a brother, Richard (Shirley) Redinger of Smithville and sisters, Arlene Gordon of Wooster, Maxine (Roger) Botkin of Conyers, GA, Delpha (Don) Haws of Lilburn, GA, Elva (Gene) Leyda of Big Prairie, Alta (Roger) Bucher and Marlene Hinton both of Wooster, Judy Repp of Shreve and Sharon (Paul) Woodruff of Wooster and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Billiter on Dec. 22, 2012, his parents and a sister Pauline Blankenship.
