Donald R. Cushman, 82, of Fortville, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born May 27, 1934 in Fortville to Ralph and Laura Leone (Ross) Cushman and was a 1952 graduate of the old Fortville High School. Don served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He had worked in Security at Ford Motor Company, retiring in 1990 after 33 years of service. Don served on the Fortville Volunteer Fire Department, and was a member of the Fortville F&AM #207 and the Fortville Jaycees. He enjoyed going to auctions, collecting and refurbishing old tools and collecting coins.
He is survived by his wife Jean (Wethington) Cushman, whom he married on August 11, 1957; sons: Don (Nancy) Cushman II and Scott (Laura) Cushman; grandchildren: Kyle (Kylie) Cushman, Brian (Elizabeth) Cushman, Cody (fiancée Destiny) Cushman, Sarah (Zach) VanDuzer, and Andrew Rettig; and great-grandson Eli VanDuzer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Peggy Richcreek.
