On March 4, 2016, Lt. Donald O. Pumphrey, who was known as “The Duke of Marley”, passed away at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center after a brief illness. Mr. Pumphrey was born on July 30, 1956, to Robert and Karleen Pumphrey, in Baltimore, MD. He graduated from Severna Park High School in 1974. Donald worked for the Anne Arundel County Fire Department and spent most of his time at Station 18, in Marley, MD. He was a member of the Maryland Marksman Hunting Club and served in the Honor Guard for the A.A. County Fire Department.
