Donald M. Pignataro, 84, of Amity Road, Woodbridge, passed away at his home June 25, 2012. He was the husband of the late Norma J. Maturo Pignataro. Mr. Pignataro was born in New HavenSept. 13, 1927, son of the late Gregorio “Jerry” and Lena Testa Pignataro. He attended StoneBusinessAcademy and operated the Universal Food Store on Upper Whalley Avenue in Westville for 30 years until the store closed in 1977. More recently, he worked at the CT. Dept. of Consumer Protection for 20 years until his retirement. He is survived by a son, Gregory Pignataro of Woodbridge; a daughter in law, Joyce Pignataro of Bethany; and four grandchildren, Caitlin, Jessica, John and Gregory Pignataro III. He was predeceased by a son, John Nicholas Pignataro and his sister, Mary Abt., 424 Elm St. (cor. Dwight) New Haven Friday, June 29th at 9:20.
