Donald Lynn Hake, 83, of Boise, passed away on July 4, 2013 as a result of dementia. Donald (Don) was born on March 19, 1930 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin to Joseph Lynn and Frances (Joyner) Hake. He graduated from Luck High School in 1948 Luck, Wisconsin. Don was drafted into the U.S. Army and served stateside for two years. In August 1951 he married his high school sweetheart, Norma Joyce Parkins. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2011. To that union were born two children; Steven Hake and Charmaine Hake Stappler.
Don loved hunting, fishing and being in the out of doors almost as much as life itself, and always enjoyed a good fishing story. Don, also, enjoyed car racing, and gardening. He worked in the operations and sales of heavy equipment which allowed him to travel to many interesting places.
He is survived by daughter, Charmaine and son-in-law Larry Stappler from Boise as well as 2 grandsons (Jacob and Luke Stappler) living in Alaska and Madagascar respectively, one grandson (Dylan Hake) in Texas, a granddaughter (Amanda Richardson) and her family in Meridian, and a his sister (Stella Hunter) and family in Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by Norma in 2012, and son Steven in 1991.
