Donald LeRoy Parker, 90, went home to his Heavenly Father on June 24, 2018 in Riverside, was born November 12, 1927 in Charlotte, Michigan to Edwin Thomas and Lucille (Shaver) Parker.
Donald graduated from Olivet Nazarene College in 1950, then spent almost four years in the US Air Force as a Pilot and a Medic. He then began his working career at Armor Pharmaceuticals then Miles Laboratory as a Bio-Chemist in Kankakee, married the love of his life, Hallie “Carol” (Swope), June 30, 1956. In 1993 he retired and they moved to Colorado Springs.
Donald enjoyed hiking, fishing, hunting and wild life. He was a lover of God’s creation. He was also a sports fan, the Chicago Cubs and the Denver Broncos being his favorite teams.
Donald never met a stranger! He loved the Lord, his family, and all people and children – but most of all LOVED LIFE and always said he was a blessed man.
He is survived by his wife and four children, Janice (Dan) Blosch, Steven (Kelly) Parker, James Parker (Tina McDaniel) and Brian Parker (Barry Noland); grandchildren, Heather Calvin, Valerie (James) Skallerup, Jason Parker (Val Jones), Joshua (Ashley) Parker, Rebekah Parker (Ryan Hart), Jacob Parker, Danny Blosch and Dawn (Jose) Martinez; great grandchildren Lauren Viramontes, Isaiah Martinez and Diego Martinez.
