Donald “Don” Leroy Bryan Jr., age 85, passed away on July 9, 2022 in Huntsville, Alabama. He was a native of Michigan but resided in Hazel Green for the past 27 years.

Don was born on August 23, 1936 in Van Buren County, Michigan to Donald and Evelyn Bryan. He went on to serve in the US Air Force from 1954 to 1964 in the 4128th Strategic Air Command in the 15th Air Force. He was stationed in Amarillo, TX, Guam, and Tucson, AZ. Don had many talents, a few being his knack for breaking his computer and creating multiple Facebook profiles (every time he lost his password). He loved hunting, bee keeping, traveling, snowmobiling, watching old westerns, listening to Johnny Cash, and subjecting his grandkids to his eccentric music. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family and eating chocolate covered cherries.

Preceded in death by his eldest son, Donald Miles Bryan, Don is survived by the love of his life and his wife of 64 years, Joan Anna Bryan, and his children: Robert (Francis) Bryan, April Schanz, James (Terri) Bryan, Melissa Cook, and William (Tracey) Bryan. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren: Donald (Christine) Bryan, daughter Amelia; Joshua (Sarah) Bryan; Alan Bryan; Andrew Bryan; Kasey (Dwayne) Schanz, sons Ayden and Augustus; Taylor Schanz; Luke Bryan; and Emily (Gregory) Odom.

Don was a dedicated serviceman and beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed.

There is no service scheduled at this time.
