Donald Lee Seymour ended this life’s journey on September 9, 2021. Don was born on September 25, 1935, in Jacksonville, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rex and Nancy Seymour, and his sisters, Shirley and Betty Seymour.
Don married the love of his life, Marilyn (Gust) Seymour in 1956 and she survives him. They lived in Meredosia, Illinois for the greater part of their lives where Don worked for Celanese for 40 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
After retirement, Don spent the next twenty years as a coffee shop philosopher. Everyone that knew him loved him. He was the epitome of a gentle, kind soul and will be missed by many.
Don is survived by four sons, Mike (Cindy) of Raymond, California, Jim of Meredosia, Steve (Sandy) of Lynnville, and Bill of Springfield; three grandchildren, Matt (Eve), David, and Kaylee (Amy); and four great grandchildren, Ezra, Donovan, Olivia, and David.
