Donald Lee Patterson, 78, of Ringgold went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ forevermore on Friday July 22, 2016. Son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
During this time he married the forever love of his heart Norma Lane.
Upon graduating from UTK in 1961 with his BS Degree in Education he returned to Ringgold High School to assist in football for three years. He also served as head track coach and assistant coach in boys and girls basketball. During the next few years he received his MS Degree from Middle Tennessee and was hired in 1971 by Ringgold High School to become Assistant Principal, Head Football Coach, and Athletic Director where he remained for 28 years. For a combined 33 years at Ringgold High School he gave his heart and dedication to helping others. He was an ever present figure, teacher, leader, father, and friend.
He was a man of strong faith, believing in the power and strength of Jesus Christ’s love and the beauty and peace that would await him after his passing. Don was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Norma Lane Patterson. Survivors are his daughter, Donya; son in law, Keith; and grandson, Braven; sister, Doris Crowe; brother, Bob Patterson.
The body will lie in state from 12-1 p.m.
