Donald Lee Lewis of Georgetown, TX, formerly of Jacksonville, IL, died peacefully on February 16, 2018, at the age of 88.
He was born July 23, 1929, the son of George Lewis and Mae Blakeman Lewis. Don graduated from Murrayville High School in 1947. He served in the US Army, stationed in Germany from 1951-1953. He had a successful 36 year sales career with Bound to Stay Bound Books (BTSB of Jacksonville), traveling throughout the Midwest.
Don married the former Shirley Smith on October 7, 1951, and she survives him. He is also survived by his daughter, Lucinda Lewis of Dallas, TX; his son, Scott, and daughter-in-law, Patty of Keller, TX; and two granddaughters, Megan and Annie. He was preceded in death by his brother, Harold.
In 2003, Don and Shirley moved to Texas to be near family. In his retirement, he remained active and pursued his interest in golf, playing several times a week.
