Williamsport, MD – Donald Lee “Don” Miles, 87, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at Cadia Healthcare of Hagerstown, MD.
He was born on March 9, 1933 in Clear Spring, MD to the late Carl Clifford and Edna M. Eshelman Miles.
He attended Hagerstown High School Hagerstown, MD.
Don was employed by the Herald-Mail in Hagerstown, MD for 39 years retiring in 1991. He was a 25 year Club member of the Herald-Mail.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict as a M.P.
He was a member of the St. James Brethren Church in St. James, MD.
Don enjoyed woodworking, making small furniture for his family and was involved with the family landscaping business. He was previously employed with Kauffman Auto Body in Hagerstown, MD and also employed with Showalter Dairy in Maugansville, MD.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years Phyllis Jean (Metz) Miles; daughter Sharon Strite and her husband Joe of Williamsport, MD; daughter Michelle Trumpower and her husband Curtis of Maugansville, MD; daughter Melody Miles of Greencastle, PA; son Randy Miles and his wife Pam of Williamsport, MD;10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and 1 on the way.
He was predeceased by two sisters Phyllis Maloy and Anna Mae Wolfe and one brother Carl “Gene” Miles.
