Donald LaVern Sweeney, passed away on September 14, 2016 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born on July 8, 1942 to Crystal Maryland Middaugh and Donald Dwight Sweeney in Pontiac, Michigan.

He was raised in Cameron, MO, where he played football in high school and was nick named speedy petey for how fast he could run. Donald honorably served in the US Air Force, and fought during Vietnam. He retired as Master Sgt. In 1984.
He loved to golf and ride rollercoasters. He enjoyed traveling in their motor home, spending time with family and friends and loved football and basketball.

Don was an LVAD heart patient for two years and had many friends in the LVAD department at IMC. He enjoyed educating other LVAD patients and sharing his story. A special thanks to the LVAD team at Intermountain Medical Center, who Don thought the world of.

He is survived by his wife, Connie; children, Susan (Rick) Montgomery, Brooke (Debbie) Banta; five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren; sister, Patricia (Ward) Moore. He was preceded in death by his parents.
