Donald Lashley, 80, of Harbert, Michigan, died Monday morning, February 27, 2006 at his home.
Don was born February 8, 1926 in Chicago to William and Eleanor (Slemp) Lashley. He graduated from Marmion Military Academy in Oak Park, Illinois and attended the University of Illinois.
Don served his country in the US Navy during WWII as a gunner’s mate, and also during the Korean War. He was a radio announcer in Bedford, Indiana, and later, was employed at the J.C. Penney store in Michigan City, Indiana. Don was an avid golfer and loved to watch the sport on television. He was a volunteer driver at the River Valley Senior Center in Harbert for many years and was an active member of St. Agnes Church in Sawyer, Michigan. Don was a very devoted son.
Survivors include his mother, Eleanor of Harbert, his aunts, an uncle and many cousins in Chicago
