Donald L. Meyer, 78, of Fort Collins, Colorado died Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at his home. He was born April 30, 1939, in Highland, Illinois, the son of Lester and Inez Meyer. He married Sherrie Houston, a native of Jacksonville, IL, in January of 1966 at the Annie Merner Chapel on the MacMurray College campus in Jacksonville.
Don is survived by his family, all of Fort Collins, CO including his wife, Sherrie; three children, Lisa (Todd) Buckner, Doug Meyer, and Jeff (Katie) Meyer; five grandchildren, Tia (Branson) Wilson, Alex, and Regan Buckner, Sage, and Megan Meyer; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Joyce Meyer of Highland, IL.
Don graduated from the University of Illinois in 1967 with a Ph.D. in Nutritional Biochemistry. He moved his family to Fort Collins, Colorado in 1972. He spent his career working for pharmaceutical companies, including research and development and international travel.
