Donald Lawrence Konefal, Sr., 74, of Middletown, beloved husband of Beverly (Muscatello) Konefal for twenty-seven years, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Middlesex Hospital. Born in Middletown, he was the son of the late Martin and Helen (Giesbrandt) Konefal. Don grew up in Middlefield and moved to Middletown after marrying Bev but Middlefield was always in his heart. He worked for District 13 School System as a janitor for many years before becoming an oil burner technician. Don was veteran serving in the U.S. Army. Along with his wife, Don is survived by his son, Donald Konefal, Jr. and his fiancée, Jacqueline of Cromwell; two daughters, Trudy Haury and her husband, Christopher of Meriden and Marie Oryell and her husband, Geoff of Cromwell; a brother, Charles Konefal and his wife, Elizabeth of Middletown; a sister, Jean Skurzewski and her husband, Raymond of Meriden and five grandchildren, Taylor, Elena, Jordan, Faith and Nicole.
