Donald L. “Don” Blincow June 24, 1927 ~ April 17, 2017 World War II Veteran ~ United States Navy Don passed away on Monday, April 17, 2017 at Tru Hospice in Boulder, Colorado. Don was born in Aurora, Nebraska to Guy and Lenore Blincow. The family moved to Holyoke, Colorado when Don was just a small child. He graduated from Holyoke High School in 1945. The day of graduation, he and his buddy enlisted in the Navy and was assigned to San Diego, California. Don’s navy career was shortened as the war ended, but from San Diego went to Hawaii and played the trombone in the Navy’s Com Air Pac Band. After the war ended Don returned to Colorado, attended college in Fort Collins and the Denver Art Institute in Denver. He started work at Western Electric where he met the love of his life, Thelma Hizel Blincow. They were married June 21, 1953. Don loved all forms of Art, traveling, music and always tinkered around the house. He was a very spiritual and God loving person.
