DURHAM Mr. Donald James Smith, 72, of Durham, died on Monday, June 25, 2018.
Mr. Smith was born in Danville, Virginia, the son of the late Timothy Nathaniel Smith and Annabelle Smith Hamrick. He served in the U. S. Navy and was a retired truck driver. He volunteered with the Salvation Army. He was preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Nathaniel Smith II.
He is survived by his two daughters, Penny Morris (John), Pamela Michelle Smith (Sam McLamb); three sons, Timothy Nathaniel Smith III and (Crystal); Johnathan James Solem and Adam Eugene Smith; sisters, Jackie Thorpe, Susie Smith, and Lee Smith; grandchildren, Kristin Beck, Mason Smith-Ivey, Gabriel McLamb, Grace, McLamb, Cierra K. Smith, Alexander N. Smith, Colton Solem, Jude Smith and great-granddaughter, Lyla Coddington.
