Donald J. McCubbrey, Clinical Professor Emeritus at the University of Denver, was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 15, 1935. He passed away peacefully in his home in Denver on September 21, 2021.  He is survived by his wife, Janis, and his three children, Heather (McCubbrey) Platz (Lance),  D. Stuart McCubbrey (Marie), and Charles (CJ) Cadwell (Tegan) and two grandchildren, Paul and GraceLian McCubbrey.

Don had a long, distinguished career as a widely-published author of papers, articles, and textbooks. He taught Information Technology and Electronic Commerce at the Daniels College of Business, where he was department chair for 17 years. He also served as president of the University Faculty Senate.

One of Don’s greatest gifts was to sit back and listen before speaking.  He was often praised for his calm demeanor and thoughtful, quiet elegance. Aside from his three children, Don’s two great loves were cats and the cool, smooth sounds of jazz, most especially Brazilian jazz.
