Mr. Donald J. Leynaud, 82, of Peru, passed away Sunday morning, May 12, 2013 at his home.
Leynaud was born on October 1, 1930 in Peru to George and Maragret (Flemming) Leynaud. He married Paula Baracani on July 31, 1954 at St. Anthony’s Church in Spring Valley. He graduated from LaSalle-Peru Township High School in 1948. After graduating he enlisted in the Army, from 1948-1950 and then again from 1950-1952. He was a Korean War Veteran of the Third Infantry Division.
After receiving an honorable discharge he was employed by the Maze Lumber Company where after 43 years of employment he retired as a manager in 1993. As a father and grandfather Don enjoyed carpentry, model building, and outings with his sons and grandsons. Don enjoyed meeting and talking with all people and his stories and experiences will forever be missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Paula Leynaud of Peru; three sons, Donald C. Leynaud of Allendale, IL, Scott P. Leynaud of Peru, and Timothy J. (Kris) Leynaud of Lexington, OH; two grandsons, Ryan and Brandon Leynaud; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Letta Leynaud and Marie Rosolia; and one brother, George Leynaud, Jr. Pallbearers will be Ryan Leynaud, Brandon Leynaud, Ray Actis, Mike Actis, Mark Actis, Mike Zwicka, and G.W. Leynaud.
