Donald J. Killian, 88, of Ottawa, died on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa.

Donald was born on February 24, 1926, in Bloomington, to Harry and Helena (Quaid) Killian. He served in the US Army during WWII in the European Theater. Donald married Shirley Jean Golden, on May 15, 1954, in Downs, Illinois. Donald worked at Libbey-Owens- Ford and farmed in Wapella.

He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, the Ottawa Moose Lodge 960, the Ottawa VFW and the Glassworkers Local 19. Don loved motorcycles and antique cars. He enjoyed dancing and playing cards both here and in Weslaco, TX. He is survived by his 3 children, Donna (Don) Danko, Richard (Sue) Killian and Patty (Ricco) Crum, all of Sandwich, 10 grand children; Jason , Brian and Philip Heffley, Kara Johnson, Kelly Becker, Derek Danko, Joshua and Jonathan Killian and Danielle and Taylor Dille and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley on March 27, 1997, and a brother Arthur Killian. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
