Donald J. “Don” Hoagland, 74, Anderson, passed away August 30, 2011 at St. Johns Health System, Anderson. He was born February 6, 1937 in Veedersburg, Indiana, and resided in Anderson for 35 years.
Don served his country in the US Army. He retired from Ameritech Telephone Company after 32 years of service working in various roles such as Service Manager and Purchasing. He also worked for H & R Block for 20 years.
He was a member of Bethany Christian Church and the Veedersburg Masonic Lodge #491 F. & A.M. Don was a loving husband, father, and papaw.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Helen D. Keeling Hoagland; children, Nancy E. Michael of Anderson and Jeffery T. Amy Hoagland of Anderson; brother, Lawrence Kathryn Hoagland; grandchildren, Danielle Maier, Travis Maier, Grace Hoagland and Sophia Hoagland; great grandchild, Kairi Maier; several nieces and nephews; and also brothers-in-law, Arnold Joyce Keeling and Dennis W. Keeling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dallas M. & Grace Gookins Hoagland; sisters, Jane Francis, Rose Odle, and Martha Ratcliff and brother, James Hoagland.
