Donald H. Currier, 77, of rural Jacksonville, IL died Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.

He was born July 27, 1932 in Morgan County, IL; the son of Harry O. and Lena Darwent Currier. He married Margaret Ratliff Baker on August 24, 1976 in Jacksonville and she survives.

He is also survived by a son, Dan Currier of Jacksonville; two stepsons, Jessie C. â??Chuckâ? Baker (companion, Darlene Lyons) of Woodson and Claude E. â??Edâ? Baker (wife, Marcy) of Murrayville; three step daughters, Jody Ann, Florence, and Edna; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a friend who resided with the family, Rosemary DeSilva of Murrayville. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Harry Dean Currier; and a sister, Freeda German.

Mr. Currier attended Morgan County schools and was a retired truck driver. He served with the US Army during the Korean War, stationed in Germany and France. He was a member of Brooklyn United Methodist Church and Jacksonville VFW Post #1379.
