Donald “Glen” Davis was born in Fullerton, California on May 17, 1922 to Elva Sarah (Townson) and Harvey L Davis. At a young age, the family moved to East Los Angeles until 1938 when they moved to Taft, California. Glen graduated, a year early, from Taft Union High School in 1938. Glen, uncle David and Dolder Black drove to San Francisco and attended the 1939 World’s Fair. Glen graduated from Taft Junior College in 1941. While working for Mobil Oil, he enlisted in the Army Air Corp. In the meantime, he met his future bride, Delma Lee “Peggy” Prewett. They were married at the Bakersfield courthouse on December 11, 1943. Soon afterwards, he was sent overseas as a First Lieutenant to fly 48 missions as an aircraft commander flying B-26’s. Upon returning from Europe, Glen returned to Mobil Oil and started a family. Carole Ann was born September 17, 1946 and Colleen Diane was born on December 22, 1947. In 1980, Glen and Peggy retired and moved to Pismo Beach where they purchased a motor home and toured the United States. When Glen and Peggy weren’t traveling Glen enjoyed playing golf and watching Dodger games. When Peggy passed away on August 25, 2014, Glen sold the Pismo Beach home and moved to Bandon, Oregon to be closer to his daughter Carole. He was preceded in death by his parents Harvey L Davis and Elva, wife of over 70 years, Delma Lee “Peggy” Davis, daughter, Colleen Diane Woods, great granddaughters, Jennifer and Nicole Hill. Glen leaves behind daughter, Carole Voliva, (Leroy Millican), of Bandon, Oregon; granddaughters, Tracy Chitwood, husband Mike of Taft, California and Denise Dieter, husband Jeff, of Bakersfield, California; his only grandson, Charles Voliva, III and his wife, Connie Maricopa, California; great-granddaughters, Chandra Mincks, Courtney Voliva, Chelsey Voliva; great-grandsons, Charles R. Voliva, IV and Dylan Cabral; great-great-grandsons, Zack and Mikey Mincks.
