Donald Gary Maddux, 64, of Pine Mountain, GA, formerly of the Valley area, passed away on December 29, 2016, after complications from treatment of leukemia.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years Sharon Swader Maddux, daughters Crispen Maddux Lott (Jason), Heather Maddux Hajek(Greg), and grandchildren Chandler and Jada Lott, Holden and Hudson Hajek. Siblings Danny (Libby) Maddux, Rodney (Michelle) Maddux, Barry (Paula) Maddux, Derender (Scott) Trippel, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Grace Maddux, sister Gail Dyess, son Brian Maddux and grandson Christian Lott.
Gary grew up in Valley, graduated from Valley High School and attended Auburn University. He was a General Contractor, working under the company business name his son Brian founded. He was an avid Auburn fan and loved watching his grandchildren play sports. He loved to travel and spend time with his family. He was a devoted Christian and had served as a deacon in his church.
