DONALD ROGER GARDNER, 84, a lifelong resident of Deming died Saturday November 28, 2015 at his home.
Donald was born January 7, 1931 in Hondale, New Mexico to John M. and Lila Lee Gardner. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and upon his separation he returned to the farm where he worked and raised his family. During that time he also worked for the Forest Service for 14 years as heavy equipment operator but his specialty was as a grader operator keeping roads clear and in good condition. Donald was a lifelong member of the NRA and also a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion.
He is survived by his children, Lee Gardner (Shaun) of Sedona, AZ, Rex Gardner (Norma) of Deming, Janet Barclay (Richard) of Estancia, NM; sister, Thelma Pelayo of Deming; fiancé Jeanine Guillaume of Deming; 11 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lila Mae Gardner and two daughters, Rhonda and Mildred Gardner.
