Donald G. Oden, 85, of Indianapolis, passed away at Community Hospital North on Saturday, June 28, 2014. He was born March 1, 1929 in Indianapolis to the late Donovan and Margaret (Meyers) Oden and graduated from Zionsville High School.
Don served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from the Allison Transmission Division of General Motors in 1990 after 40 years of service as an engineer. He is survived by his wife Jean (Beard) Oden whom he married on October 17, 1954; daughter Shirley (Allen) Pulley of Indianapolis; grandsons Mark Eisenhower of Arizona and Matt Pulley of Indianapolis; brother Ernest Oden of Fortville; and sister Patti (Don) Hess of Greencastle. He was preceded in death by three infant sons; brothers Russell and Keith Oden; and sisters Marjorie Harris and Frances Minteer.
