Donald Eugene Flook, 85, of 2116 Federal Avenue, died Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center following a brief illness surrounded by his loving family.

Donnie and his wife the former June Houseknecht, observed their 62nd wedding anniversary on June 11, 2011.

Donnie was a member of St. Paul-Calvary United Methodist Church for 68 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Fleet as a First Class Petty Officer.

Donnie attended the former Dickinson Seminary, now Lycoming College. While in the Navy he attended Diesel Technician and Refrigeration schools.

Donnie retired from Lycoming Engines, formerly Avco, in March 1991. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, motor cycling, snow mobiling, four wheeling, was a Phillies and Steelers fan and loved taking walks with his little dog, Lady.

Born November 9, 1925 in Williamsport, he was the son of Harry Allen and Ruth Alice Elder Flook, Sr.

Surviving in addition to his wife (Binda) are a son, Donald (Buzzy) V. Flook (Sandy) of Williamsport; daughters, Donna June Whitteker of Williamsport and Virginia (Gini) (Michael) Hill of San Francisco, Calif.; grandson, Joseph Michael Phillip (Tammi) Whitteker of Muncy; great grandsons, Cody and Joseph Whitteker; two nieces and one nephew.

Donnie was predeceased by brothers, Herman Flook and Harry Allen (Red) Flook, Jr., and a sister, Lois A. Hoyler.

The family suggests contributions may be made to the Church or the charity of the donor’s choice.
