Donald Ethan Lawlis, also known as “Donnie” and “Don”, 59, of Whiteland, Indiana, passed away, in Greenwood, on Monday, August 02, 2021. He was born in Franklin, Indiana, on April 7, 1962, to Donald “Dick” Lawlis and the late Laurie (Burks) Lawlis.
He was a man of many talents and interests. He enjoyed music, listening to it and mixing sound for it. He had been an audio engineer most of his life and had worked for the Kenneth Copeland ministries. As of late, Donald lent his audio talents to his church, Grace Assembly of God. He also enjoyed traveling and would help his friend, Stan Jackowski, in his ministry work, with Truth Family Ministries. Donald loved talking about the Gospel and sharing his faith. He was working on podcasts and evangelism outreach materials with Stan, through the Mandate Project. He also helped to run sound for the Celebrate Recovery ministry, at his church. He enjoyed gunsmithing and eating BBQ, he was a member of the BBQ Brethren, from Grace Assembly. Donald enjoyed being a dad and pappaw and making memories with his family. He was a kind, humorous, and dedicated man and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Donald is survived by his children, Donald Ethan (Bailey Reynolds) Lawlis of Dallas, TX., Michael Lawlis of Indianapolis, Katherine Lawlis, and Jonathon Lawlis, both of Greenwood, IN., his father, Donald “Dick” Lawlis, of Franklin, IN. and three brothers: Randall and David Lawlis, both of Franklin, IN. and Jeremy Lawlis of Indianapolis, and three grandkids Garrett, Madison, and Adeline.
He was sadly preceded in death by his beloved wife, Porsha and his precious mother, Laurie.
